Designer Profile

Australian-born jeweler, Ray Griffiths, has been creating beautiful jewelry for more than 30 years.

Rays collection is rapidly collecting admirers amongst the media, celebrities and private collectors of fine jewelry.  The New York Times raved  "I was stunned by the work of Ray Griffiths.  His bracelets are jawdropping."

Ray was recently featured on the hit Bravo Television Show "Real Housewives of New York" as a favourite designer of Alex McCord (one of the housewives) and Deborah Messing, Toni Collette, Rachel Griffiths, Angela Basset and Brooke Shields are amongst the famous faces who wear his jewels.

Renowned for his exquisite metalwork, brilliantly cut gemstones, profound technical skills and harmonious designs, Ray creates heirloom earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets. The “crownwork” visible in his settings reflect his early training fabricating the intricate substructure of tiaras and crowns. Along with a degree from the Gemology Institute of Sydney, few modern jewelers know as much as Ray does about the composition, form and valuation of precious metals, gems and diamonds. Ray knows just how to exact the best out of the materials with which he works.

Drawing on inspiration from architecture and art, Ray’s skillful craftsmanship and unique ability to interpret a client’s aesthetic enable him to create enduring pieces. Ray’s creations are as sleek in their beauty as they are comfortable to wear.

“Jewelry is something that takes a long time to get right. Integrating technical skills into one’s own sense of style and design occurs over time. Real jewelry isn’t seasonal, it’s evolutionary.”

Ray Griffiths’ jewelry can be found in select boutiques in the US. Private appointments are also available at his studio on Fifth Avenue in New York.
